# Getting back into your application

> How to retrieve any application you started — still in progress, pending, or already submitted — using apply.uportal360.com.

If you started an application and need to get back into it — whether it is still incomplete,
waiting on something from you, or already submitted — you do not need to start over, and you do not
need the device or browser you started on.

<Warning>
  **If your application has not been decided yet, you have 30 days from when you applied to finish
  it.** That is the same clock described in [if your application is
  pending](/applying/if-your-application-is-pending): it runs from when you applied, not from when
  you last opened the application, and it does not pause because you stepped away.
</Warning>

## Pick up where you left off

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to apply.uportal360.com">
    This is a different address from `uportal360.com`, which is for signing in to an account that
    already exists. An application is not an account yet, so it is not where you sign in.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the email address you applied with">
    Select **Search for account**. This looks up any application tied to that address, whatever its
    status — still in progress, pending, or already submitted — and retrieves it. Every field is
    saved as you go, so nothing you already entered is lost.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What you'll see once you're back in

Getting back in does not change your application — you land on whatever it was already showing.
If it still needs information from you, continue and submit it. If it has gone pending since you
last looked, you will land on one of the screens covered in [if your application is
pending](/applying/if-your-application-is-pending), which walks through what each one means and how
to clear it.

## If the search does not find your application

<Tip>
  **Use the exact email address you applied with.** A typo, or a second email address, is the most
  common reason a search comes back empty.
</Tip>

If you are sure the email is right and nothing comes back, the application may have already expired,
or something else may have gone wrong. Call **(888) 233-2302** and we can look into it with you.
